The Comptons Emergency Evacuation Sheet is designed for quick use in emergencies, remaining beneath an ordinary foam mattress and ensuring that patients do not need to be transferred to a chair. It attaches firmly with elasticated straps and stays inconspicuous until needed. When evacuation is necessary, safety straps secure the patient while pulling straps, which can be accessed from either end, allow for rapid movement.
This evacuation sheet transforms into a flexible sledge that securely envelops the patient and mattress together, making it easier to transport down stairs or through narrow doorways. Constructed from low-friction fabric, it can effortlessly slide on various surfaces. Maintenance is straightforward; lightly soiled sheets can be wiped with a sterilisation solution, while heavily soiled sheets may be machine washed following the Hospital Guidelines – HSG (95) 18. The maximum washing temperature is 90°C, and a low-temperature tumble dry is permissible if needed.
