Product Details
Product Overview
The FIPASEN reptile heating mat is designed to provide safe and balanced temperature distribution for reptiles and insect breeding. It is crucial to avoid laying reptiles or insects directly on the mat for safety. The mat comes without rubber spacers; should the mat be punctured or deformed, discontinue use immediately.
Installation and Usage
This heating mat can be conveniently installed either at the bottom or side of your terrarium or vivarium. For optimal performance, it is highly recommended to use this mat in conjunction with a thermostat, setting the temperature probe close to the heating pad. To retain heat and safeguard pets, a thin barrier between the mat and the pets is advisable, especially in glass tanks that may dissipate heat rapidly. Additionally, place it away from any flammable materials.
Heating Regulation
The FIPASEN reptile heating mat is designed for gradual heating to avoid overheating, typically taking about half an hour to reach an accurate temperature reading. In winter or cold conditions, adjustments may be necessary, such as using the MAX setting on the controller or adding thermal insulation films beneath the mat. Note that the controller does not feature a digital display.
Durability and Safety
This removable heating pad features a damp-proof design, eliminating worries about adhesive mess within the tank. Avoid covering the heating mat with non-thermally conductive materials like wood chips or quilts. While the heater mat is slightly waterproof, it should not be immersed in water or exposed to high temperatures for extended periods to prevent electrical short circuits or hazards.
Compatibility
The heating mat is suitable for a wide range of reptiles and insect breeding, including tortoises, snakes, lizards, geckos, hermit crabs, turtles, spiders, and other amphibians requiring belly heat.
