The outdoor extension cord safety cover is versatile and highly functional, making it an essential component for protecting electrical plug connections. The external size of this cover measures 2.51″ x 3.24″ x 7.7″ while the inner size measures 2.28″ x 2.32″ x 5.8″. It accommodates 12, 14, and 16 gauge cords and fits most standard grounded (3-prong) and polarized (2-prong) plugs, ensuring safe and secure connections.
One of the upgraded aspects of this cover is its simplified operation, featuring just 2 lockable latches, as opposed to traditional designs with 4 latches. This reduces the risk of breakage and comes complete with 2 cable clamps, mounting holes, and rubber gaskets, which create a watertight seal for dry and secure outdoor connections.
The design is hinged and consists of a one-piece structure with an integrated locking system. The top and the base come pre-attached, eliminating the need for assembly and preventing the loss of detachable buckles that are commonly found in other covers.
Manufactured from heavy-duty weather-resistant plastic, this extension cord cover is capable of withstanding harsh weather conditions like rain, snow, and dust, protecting your electrical connections from potential hazards. It is important to note that this product is not designed for full submersion in water.
It is suitable for various applications including lawn and garden power tools, Christmas holiday lighting, pool pumps, fountains, patio heaters, and construction sites. However, it is designed for standard plugs only and may not accommodate power strips or large adapters.
