It is important to note that while ESI6 meets and exceeds all DOT standards for DOT 3, DOT 4, and DOT 5.1, it is not compatible with vehicles that require DOT 5 fluids; therefore, only DOT 5 should be used in such systems. For a full fluid change, multiple quarts may be needed to ensure complete flushing of the existing fluid and adequate bleeding of the brake system post-refill.
