This AcuRite set features a Galileo thermometer that reads temperatures between 64-80°F. As temperatures rise, the liquid in the glass tube becomes less dense, causing the liquid-filled bulbs to sink. Conversely, when temperatures drop, the bulbs rise back up.

The accompanying barometer measures variations in barometric pressure, illustrated by the water level in a spout. This spout is adorned with a frosted world map, indicating weather patterns; a low water level suggests high pressure and fair weather, while high levels indicate poor conditions.
