Product Details
The Ambient Weather WS-YG501 Galileo Thermometer, Hygrometer & Glass Barometer combines beauty and functionality. It features a sealed glass tube filled with paraffin oil and five hand-blown glass bubbles, each containing a coloured liquid mix. These bubbles are calibrated with individual weights to ensure accuracy, as they float or sink based on the surrounding temperature.
The liquid within the thermometer changes density with temperature variations, causing some bubbles to float and others to sink. The lowest floating bulb indicates the approximate current temperature, with a range from 64ºF to 80ºF. The device also includes a glass barometer, where the water level in the connected spout indicates air pressure: low levels signify high pressure and fair weather, while high levels indicate bad weather.
Additional features include:
- Overall height of 11.4 inches; barometer height of 5.9 inches
- Wooden base enhances aesthetic appeal
- Recommended use of distilled water for the barometer (not included) and options to customise with food colouring (not included)
