The Spurtar Adjustable Oil Filter Wrench features a dual-direction oil filter wrench with a special turn-to-lock mechanism. To utilise correctly, ensure the right direction is set before use, as turning incorrectly will cause the jaws to loosen rather than tighten. To set the correct direction, open to the maximum diameter and turn counterclockwise past the centre for removal, or clockwise past the centre for installation. Once correctly set, it grips firmly without slipping.
This tool works with small and medium-sized spin-on oil filters ranging from 2-3/8 to 3-1/8 inches (60mm-80mm) in diameter. Users are recommended to install the new oil filter by hand only; once the gasket contacts the engine surface, tighten it an additional 3/4 to 1 full turn by hand.
