Installation Instructions
1. Remove the two bolts securing the inspection cover to the flywheel housing.
2. Take out the pin (not included) from the engine barring tool (J-46392).
3. Install the tool into the flywheel housing and secure it with longer bolts (not included). Standard inspection cover bolts are insufficient for this installation.
4. Insert the pin (not included) as needed to lock the tool and prevent movement of the flywheel ring gear.
Removal Instructions
To remove the engine barring tool before starting the engine:
1. Unscrew the two bolts and take out the barring tool from the flywheel housing; it is not necessary to remove the pin.
2. Reinstall the inspection cover on the flywheel housing using the two bolts, tightening them to 25 N·m (18 lb·ft) for MBE 4000 models.
