The Iris Ohyama cooling blanket is designed to keep you comfortably cool, utilising a high-conductivity cooling fabric made from polyethylene for superior heat management. It features PCM (Phase Change Material) technology, originally developed for astronauts, which efficiently absorbs excess heat and helps maintain a stable temperature by transforming from solid to liquid. This innovative approach also contributes to energy savings, allowing you to enjoy a comfortable sleep without excessively lowering your air conditioning settings. The blanket’s antibacterial and deodorising treatment prevents the growth of bacteria that cause odours, ensuring a fresh sleeping environment. It is machine washable on a gentle cycle at 40°C, and it is necessary to avoid bleach and tumble drying to protect the fabric’s integrity. The dimensions of the blanket are approximately 160 x 190 cm, with a weight of about 1.1 kg. The surface composition includes 50% nylon and 50% polyethylene, while the back is made of 100% cotton and 100% polyester ground material. Care instructions advise hanging to dry in the shade and reshaping after washing. Due to the nature of the materials used, some fuzzing or pilling may occur, and care should be taken to avoid long direct contact with walls or incompatible surfaces to prevent discolouration or transfer.
